Rex Gail Bruington, 74, of Arlington, Tennessee, formerly of Columbus, Mississippi died on April 30, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.
He was a CPA, retired College Professor at the Mississippi University for Women of Columbus, Mississippi, and a United States Army Veteran.
Mr. Bruington was born April 21, 1942 in Newton, Kansas to the late Oscar Bruington and Hazel Jacobson Bruington.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Bruington, and one sister, Donna Wahl.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Waugh Bruington, of Arlington, Tennessee; two sons, Brent Bruington and wife, Peggy of McGehee and Stephen Moritz of Memphis, Tennessee; a daughter, Kerry Bruington and husband, Bo Taramina of Collierville, Tennessee; a brother, Terry Bruington of Olathe, Kansas; a sister, Wanda Davis of Emporia, Kansas; grandchildren, Tommy Bruington, Michelle Shinn, and Christina Snow; six great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held on May 4 at 2 p.m. at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia, Kansas with Pastor David Webb officiating.
