Rial Cecil Rivers, Jr., 75, of Star City passed away on June 11, 2018 at his home.

He was a sewing machine mechanic at School Apparel and loved playing with his grandkids.

Mr. Rivers was born on May 15, 1943 in Pine Hill, Alabama to the late Rial, Sr. and Inez Green Rivers.

Also preceding him in death were his brother, Jimmy Rivers and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Verla Goodman Rivers of Star City; five sons, Curtis Rivers, Jeffrey Rivers, both of Alabama, Jerry Gibson of Michigan City, Indiana, Ted Gibson of Portage, Indiana and Adam (Elesha) Davis of Star City; three daughters, Denise Boudreaux of Alabama, Wendy (Joey) Lundy of Alabama and Lydia (Frank) Smith of Oklahoma; two brothers, Ellis (Gayle) Rivers of Alabama and Tommy Rivers of Florida; four sisters, Ida Bea Brown of Florida, Shirley Johnson of Alabama, Millie (Joe) Fortunato of Florida and Elaine (Tommy) Hill of Florida; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16 at 2 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jonathan McEntire officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
