Richard Lee Pope, Sr., 87, of Star City, passed away peacefully October 5, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in North Little Rock.
He was born August 24, 1934, in Neosho, Missouri to the late Yates Grandy Pope and Irene Pope Powell.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960 as a Radar Technician. Out of the military, he met and married Rita Bates, and had three beautiful children. They divorced after 17 years. Richard was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff.
Richard loved to read, was an avid golfer and enjoyed being out in nature. He was truly a one-of-a-kind person. We know that he and his best little buddy, Kozmo are smiling down on all of us.
