Richard Samuel Cater, Jr., 66, of Monticello, passed away December 27, 2020, at The Woods of Monticello Health and Rehabilitation.
He was born October 9, 1954, in Monticello to the late Richard Samuel Cater and Robbie Jean Lawson Cater.
He was retired from O & M Oil Co and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Louvenia Cater, and one sister-in-law Deborah Cater.
Survivors include one stepson, John Fore and wife Rhonda of Lebanon, Missouri; three stepdaughters, Nancy Chapman and husband Steve of Monticello, Penny Heyman of Lebanon, Missouri, and Betty Evans and husband Don of Pine Bluff; one sister, Deborah Wyckoff and husband Wesley of Monticello; three Brothers, Joe Cater of Monticello, Mark Cater and wife Sherry of Wilmar and Tim Cater of Monticello; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, December 31 at 10 a.m. at Old Union Cemetery. There will be a come-and-go viewing Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello. Covid-19 guidelines will be enforced.
