A 19-year-old Rison man died very early Sunday morning following a one-vehicle accident Saturday night on Arkansas 114 in Cleveland County.
Justin Dakota Wright was pronounced deceased at 1:06 a.m. Sunday at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report.
Wright was traveling west on Arkansas 114 at 10 p.m. Saturday when he failed to negotiate a curve and the Audi A-6 he was driving ran off the right shoulder of the highway. Wright over-corrected after leaving the highway and was never able to regain control. The vehicle skidded in a counter-clockwise motion along the roadside and struck a tree before overturning several times, ejecting Wright, according to the accident report.
Wright was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff then air-lifted to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock, according to the accident report.
Travel conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
At least 205 people have died on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary figures.
