Robert L. Wells, 89, of Lake Village, died March 21, 2014, at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village.

He was a pipeline welder, boiler maker, a member of Pipe Fitters and Plumbers Union, a World War II U. S. Army Veteran and a Baptist.

Mr. Wells was born December 18, 1924 at Lacey and was the son of the late Elmer Vernon Wells and Dora Leata Ferguson Wells.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Lee Cox Wells; three brothers, Jimmy, George and Layton Wells; and a sister, Ruby Wells.

Survivors are two sons, Bobby Wells of Plains, Kan. and Jerry Wells of Willow Springs, Mo.; a daughter, Diana Clowery of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, John Wells of Lake Village, eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held March 24 at 10 a.m. at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Village with Bro. David Powers officiating, followed by cremation with his cremains buried at a later date in Kansas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
