Robert Lee Nolen, 59, of Monticello, passed away on April 4, 2016 at The Woods Nursing Home.
He was born on October 9, 1956 at Monticello and was the son of the late Zach and Earlene Nolen.
Mr. Nolen accepted Christ in his life at an early age at Green Mount A.M.E Church in Coleman. He graduated from Drew High School in 1975. His favorite pastimes included playing pool with his late uncle Harvey Staples and friends, hunting, and fishing.
He was retired from the city of Monticello where he worked for 18 years until his health began to fail.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ada Nolen and Patricia McCoy.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his son Kevin Nolen of Conway; four daughters Taiwan “Evette” (Tarl) Franklin of Killeen, Texas, Shataque Nolen of Monticello, Shevonda (Shurun) Jenkins of Hamburg, and LaKeisha Nolen of North Little Rock; six brothers, Nathan Nolen and Patrick Nolen of Little Rock, Eddie (Gurtha) Nolen of Star City, Billie Nolen of McGhee, Terry (Tiffany) Nolen of Monticello, and Kenneth Nolen of Forrest City; four sisters, Nancy (Rodney) Stanley of Monticello, Catholyn (Jerry) McCollum of Jacksonville, Verlene (Daryl) Porter of North Little Rock and Wanda Parrott of Conway; 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on April 10 at 2:30 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Burial will be at Green Mount Cemetery.
