Robert Lester Vandiver, III

Robert Lester Vandiver, III, 80, of Crossett, passed away on February 20, 2022.

He was born in Little Rock on December 12, 1941, to his parents, Robert Lester Vandiver, II and Lola Moses Vandiver.

He was a member and trustee of First United Methodist Church and volunteered at the local food pantry for many years. He worked for over 45 years at Georgia Pacific as plant manager, serving as a consultant in the last few of those years.

Bob had a heart of gold and loved making his family laugh. He enjoyed his work and volunteering but more importantly his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren who he was so proud of and became his purpose in life.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Robert Haydon.

He is survived by two sons, Robert Vandiver, IV of Marietta, Georgia and William Vandiver (Lisa) of Crossett; six grandchildren, Lindsay Vandiver (Trever Devine) of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, Lauren Vandiver of Acworth, Georgia, Robert Vandiver, V of Kennesaw, Georgia, Madelyne Cockerham of Crossett, Leah Hagood (Donald) of Crossett, and William Vandiver of Crossett; two great grandchildren, Andi Cockerham and Everett Hagood; three sisters, Carol Haydon of Little Rock, Linda Owens (Dwight) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Susan Young of Little Rock; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, February 25, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Crossett.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 26 at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Crossett with Rev. Matt Daniels officiating. Interment will be at Pinewood Memorial Park.
