Robert “Rob” Nelson Morgan, 54, of Star City died on December 20, 2016 at his home. He had been battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia since April 2016.
A 1980 graduate of Star City High School, Mr. Morgan obtained his private pilot’s license in 1982 and his commercial pilot’s license in 1996. He worked at National Wire from 1980-2005. He was an ag-applicator pilot in the summers of 2005-2015 while working as an auto sales consultant during off-season from crop dusting.
He loved to fish and hunt. He was a member of the Gooch Hunting Club and loved his home, farm and cows.
Mr. Morgan was a member of Yorktown Free Will Baptist Church. He was a very hardworking, kind and generous man who gave his all on every single thing he attempted. His first love was his family. He was a magnificent husband, father, brother and uncle. He never met a stranger and would help anyone.
Mr. Morgan was born on January 23, 1962 in Pine Bluff and was the son of the late Wallace and Arnell Morgan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Homer and Lollie Morgan and Travis and Alva Calhoun.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cindy Windham Morgan, and a son, Robert Blake Morgan, both of Star City; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Bobby Cox of Star City; and a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Connie Morgan of Star City and many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation is December 22 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.
Funeral services will be held on December 23 at 10 a.m. at Yorktown Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. BJ DuVall officiating. Burial will be at at Drake Cemetery.
