Robin Hood, 71, of Monticello, passed away on June 15, 2016 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
He was born November 30, 1944 at Fountain Hill and was the son of the late Mack Hood and Nola Mae Roberson Hood. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Aaron and Johnny Hood; and two sisters, Norma Sivils and Patricia Hood.
He was the chief deputy of the Drew County Sheriff’s Office and had been involved in all phases of law enforcement. He was a minister, gospel singer, guitar player and a Mason.
Survivors include his wife Lynda Mason Hood of Monticello; a daughter, Shay Cowling and husband Brandon of Monticello; a son, Darin Hood of Conway; a brother, Jimmy Hood of Monticello; two sisters, Mackie Boyd of Monticello and Retha Wright of Ozark; eight grandchildren, Jonathan and Kelsie Hood, Mady and Braydon Cowling, Kylee and Jasper Hood, Kylie and Brice Crump; five special children in his life, Eddie and Trish Deaton, Melanie and Randy Crump and Jessica Bulloch; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on June 18 at 2 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is June 17 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
