Students representing 30 teams across Arkansas will compete in a robotics challenge on February 18 in Monticello.

The Monticello Robotics VEX IQ and VEX VRC Challenge is a non-stop, action-packed day of teamwork challenges where elementary school, middle school and high school students compete with their custom-built robots, gaining experience in in science, technology, engineering, and mat through the use of VEX. Participants will square off playing a game developed by the game design committee.

Southeast Arkansas teams competing in the event will be Monticello, Drew Central and Star City.

Kelly Griffin and Jill Hood are the Monticello coaches and Barbie Eubanks is the Drew Central coach.

The challenge will get underway at 9:30 a.m. on February 18 at Pauline Baptist Church in Monticello. The church is located at the corner of North Hyatt and North Jefferson streets.
