Roger Wayne Freeman, 76, of Star City, passed away on January 20, 2018 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
He was born on January 13, 1942 in Ohio to the late Denver and Betty Freeman.
Mr. Freeman was a member of Shepherd Hill Baptist Church, a former Cleveland County coroner, member of the Police Association, a retired Star City police officer, a great carpenter, and a United States Navy Veteran. He loved to laugh and have fun with his family, but was looking forward to seeing his wife again in heaven.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kaye French Freeman, and son, Michael Wayne Freeman.
Survivors include a son, Denver Freeman of West Virginia; six daughters, Crystal French Gibson (Steve) of Surprise, Arizona, Brenda Bolen (Ricky) of Star City, Susan Freeman, Jean Freeman, Jacqueline Freeman, and Kelly Freeman; stepsons, Mike French (June) of Carlisle, Kenneth French (Tish) of Rison, Paul French (Penny) of Peel, Arkansas; four brothers, Gordon Freeman, Denver Freeman, Vaughn Freeman, and Doug Freeman, all of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; a sister, Pam Berry of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; and 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Shepherd Hill Baptist Church near Pine Bluff. Bro. Thomas Lanthrip will officiate. Memorials may be made to Shepherd Hill Baptist Church Building fund, 10710 Shepherd Hill Rd. Pine Bluff, AR 71603.
