Ronald Lee Penix, Sr., 66 of Star City, passed away Monday, December 27 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 1, 1955 in Little Rock to the late William Howard and Jacquelyn Gamble Penix.
Ronald was a member of Overcoming Faith Worship Center in Star City, a retired truck driver for OK Foods and a sergeant with the United States Army during the Vietnam War era, duties included telephone installer, lineman and tactical wire operator.
Ronald enjoyed dancing, fishing and watching westerns. He loved being a grandfather and was dedicated to his family and the Lord.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Penix; brother, Jimmy Carter; and a niece, Sierra Mays.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Penny Tarlton Penix of Star City; two sons, Ronnie Lee Penix, Jr. of Benton and Bradley Keith (Jenna) King of Star City; daughter, Candice Marie (Russell) Dillard of Quitman; brother, William “Billy” Penix of Star City; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Brenda McCuan of Tillar; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 30 at Holly Springs Cemetery. Bro. Don Borland officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the Griffin Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers are Ronnie Penix, Bradley King, Billy Penix, Russell Dillard, Dylan Penix, Tray Penix, Dustin Denham and Brantley King.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home.
