Ronald Ralph Heavner, 69, of Monticello, passed away December 6, 2020, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
He was born June 3, 1951, to the late Ralph Edward and Barbara Disbrow Heavner.
Mr. Heavner retired from AM General Hummer plant in Mishawaka, Indiana, before moving to Monticello with his wife of forty-six years, Kathryn Heavner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as a sergeant during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Ladelle Baptist Church and the VFW, Monticello Post. He was a graduate of Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana.
His hobbies included fishing, bowling, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Jackie Lee Heavner.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Kimberly DeRoeck and husband Robert, Bobbie Jo Detwiler, and Melinda Harris and husband Michael all of Monticello; three grandchildren Joshua Holland of Hot Springs, Madelynn and Nathan DeRoeck of Monticello; a sister, Sharon Lee and husband James of Monticello; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 9, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Ladelle Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial with full military honors at the Ladelle Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
