Roy Lee Johnson, 87, of McGehee, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021.
He was born April 19, 1934 in Cedar Glades, Arkansas to the late Ralph Johnson and Ola Hamilton Johnson.
Roy worked for the Arkansas Highway Department for 40 years and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Johnson; brother, Vernon Johnson; and his son-in-law, Willie Bramlett.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Cooper Johnson of McGehee; son, James (Renee) Johnson of Clinton; daughters, Linda (Jerry) Ward of Collins, Brenda Bramlett of Kilmichael, Mississippi and Sandra (Alfred) Murphree of Tillar; stepsons, Jimmy (Lisa) Cooper of McGehee and Stephen (Cheryl) Cooper of McGehee; stepdaughters, Sherry (Milton) Ray of Bryant, Christie Cooper of Midwest, Oklahoma and Becky (Mark) Dunn of McGehee; brother, Robert (Linda) Johnson of Pine Bluff; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 19 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 20, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Fleming and Rev. Jason Martin officiating. Burial will be at Tyro Cemetery.
