Ruby Frances Mitchell, 89, of McArthur, passed away on January 9, 2016 at Monticello.
She enjoyed quilting and sewing as long as she was able and enjoyed reading. She was a charter member of McArthur Baptist Church. Her husband, James, and her children were her world.
Mrs. Mitchell was born at Paris, Texas on August 30, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Emmett and Edna Posey Johnson.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Mitchell, Sr. and her son, Kenneth Ray Mitchell.
Survivors include her son, James M. Mitchell, Jr. and his wife, Shirley of McArthur; daughters, Patricia Mitchell Cobb of Ocala, Florida and Donna Mitchell Frizzell and her husband, Steve of Star City; her grandchildren, Meredith Gwen Mitchell Shirey and her husband, Michael, Katherine Lynn Frizzell, and Joanna Kendall Frizzell; great-granddaughter, Rachel McKenzie Shirey; a brother, Emmett “Johnny” Johnson of McArthur; a sister, Margaret Cole of Springdale; and five nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on January 12 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. Funeral services will be held on January 13 at 11 a.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service Chapel in McGehee with Bro. B.J. Duvall officiating. Burial will be at McArthur Cemetery in McArthur.
