Ruby Haney, 86, of Monticello, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Belleview Nursing and Rehab Facility in Monticello.

She was born January 3, 1931 in Drew County and was the daughter of the late Claude and Jessie Broom Alsobrook.

Mrs. Haney was retired from Burlington Industries and a member of Lacey United Methodist Church. She loved gardening and making items to give to loved ones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charles Haney; one daughter, Brenda Haney; and one great-grandson, Keith Trantham.

Survivors include one son, James Haney of Monticello; one daughter, Teressa Kelly of Monticello; one granddaughter, Casey (Ricky) Trantham; one grandson, Hunter Neptun; two great-grandsons, Kyle and Cody Trantham all of Monticello; one aunt, Viran Mann; and two cousins, David Mann of Bastrop, Louisiana and Gail (Bill) McQuade of Hammond, Louisiana.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, at Beulah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday evening at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home.
