Ruby Mae Lanier, 88, of Lake Village, died January 14, 2014, at her home.

She was a secretary, a homemaker and a member of Lake Village Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lanier was born October 10, 1925, in Bastrop, La. and was the daughter of the late Otha Robinson and Mary Fillingame Robinson.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Elton Robinson.

Survivors are her husband of 71 years, Bobby Lanier; two daughters, Bobbie Sue Johnson of Parrish, Fla. and Mari L. Weaver of St. John’s, Fla.; four grandchildren, J. J. Weaver, Leslie Weaver, Angie McAfee and Ginger Johnson; and one great-grandson, Riley McAfee.

Visitation is January 16 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at  Bishop Funeral Home in Lake Village.

Funeral services will be held January 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Lake Village Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Bell officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Causey Cemetery near Bastrop, La.
