Ruth Bowden Ferguson, 90, of Monticello, passed away on February 29, 2020, at her home.
She was born on October 31, 1929, in Drew County to the late Howard Clifford Bowden and Mary Frances Howell Bowden.
Mrs. Ferguson was the widow of Rev. Jack Ferguson, a retired school teacher, a member of Second Baptist Church and a “Pink Lady” hospital volunteer at Drew Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ferguson was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Downey Bowden, and a sister, Geneva Clampit.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Ferguson and wife Florinda of Monticello; two daughters, Debbie Moon and husband Steve of Pine Bluff and Denitia Bird and husband Rick of Magnolia; a brother, Clifford Bowden of the Prairie Grove community in Drew County; nine grandchildren, Drew, Kyle, Daniel, Joseph, Michael, Traci, Lauren, Josh and Courtney; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, March 2, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ray Hearron officiating. Burial will be at the Prairie Grove Cemetery in Drew County.
