Ruth McCay, 82, of Crossett, passed away on June 29,2016.
She was executive secretary for the Crossett Housing Authority. She was an avid golfer, a member of the Prairie Country Club Women’s Golf Association, a state champion bowler, and loved her flowers. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. McCay was born on October 30, 1933 in Dewitt and was the daughter of the late James Eason and Lois Olive Young Ruffin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Berlin, Ray and Bobby Joe Ruffin; and a grandson, Adam McCay.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, George McCay; a son, Buddy Cameron (Theresa); two daughters, Faye McCracken (Roger) and Vicki Shirley (Mike), all of Crossett; a stepson, Thomas D. McCay (Peggy) of Calion; a stepdaughter, Nanci Sanders of Longview, Arkansas; a brother, Ken Ruffin of Mayflower; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on July 1 at 10 a.m. at Pinewood Memorial Park with Bro. Eric Hodge officiating, under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
