Ruthie Jones Dunnahoe Porter of Gould, gained her angel wings on December 2, 2021, at Gardner Nursing Center, Star City.

Ruthie was born May 27, 1936, in Yell County. She was the daugher of the late Arvil J. and Rmeda Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Clarence Dunnahoe and Walter D. Porter; four brothers, Edgar, William, Arlen and Virgil; three sisters, Effie, Fathie and Sara; and two sons-in-law, Steve Johnson and Michael Blasingame.

Ruthie gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was a current member of Green Meadows Baptist Church in Pine Bluff and a former member of First Baptist Church, Gould.

Ruthie was a graduate of Gould High School where she excelled in academics, athletics, and was homecoming queen. She held jobs from service stations owner to store clerk/butcher, but her career was office secretary for both the elementary and high school in the Gould school system where she retired after many years of touching the lives of hundreds of children. Ruthie was a devoted hunter and fisherman; these all were surely her fondest memories.

Survivors are two daughters, Joy Blasingame Copeland of Cabot and Janet Johnson of Star City; three grandchildren, Jodi (Scotty) Wade of Cabot, Michael Blasingame, II of Little Rock and Steffanie (Cody Rogers) Johnson of Star City, ten great grandchildren, Dylan Wallis, Veronica Robertson, Alison Shackelford, Scotty Wade, II, Janie Blasingame, Mikah Blasingame, Braden Williams, Bryson Haynes, Skylyn Brooks and Austin Rogers; six great-great grandchildren and a number of other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 6, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Dark Corner Cemetery in Gould.
