Thirty-two children, 16 from the Monticello School District and 16 from the Drew Central School District, should have a brighter Christmas when they are taken on a $100 (each) shopping spree at Wal Mart by Ryburn Automotive Superstore employees.
Several months ago Ryburn Automotive Superstore decided to give a portion of the proceeds from every vehicle sold, back to the community, according to the dealership’s general manager Ronny Williams.
The money will be used to buy Christmas presents for kids in need. “We are proud to once again be teaming up with the Junior Auxiliary of Monticello to accomplish this,” Williams said.
Also, there will be a Christmas sled at the dealership after Thanksgiving which the public is asked to help fill with new toys or clothing.
“You don’t have to buy a car to contribute,” Williams said. “You can simply bring your donation to the dealership. Thanks in advance for helping us put smiles on these kids faces.”
In addition to the Christmas gifts, Ryburn recently donated $2,500 each to the Monticello and Drew Central school districts which will be used to fund creative classroom projects for the two school districts. Toyota matched the Ryburn donations.
The dealership is located on U.S. 425 South in Monticello.
