Samuel David Harris, II, 91, of Eudora, died on December 7, 2019 at Carroll Nursing Home of Oak Grove, Louisiana.
He was born on April 28, 1928 in Eudora. He was the son of the late Samuel David and Carrie Beatrice (Adcock) Harris.
Mr. Harris worked with his father at the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company of Eudora,for many years. He was a graduate of Eudora High School. Later in life he worked for Massey Ferguson, Dewitt Auction Co. before he went out on his own selling used equipment in the area.
Mr. Harris loved hunting and playing dominoes with many of his friends at his camp. Later in life he was able to develop a relationship with his children. He was loved and will be missed.
In addition to his parents Mr. Harris was preceded in death by three sisters, Margeruite Hendrix and husband, Lavelle, of Cleveland, Mississippi, Anna Faye Barkley and husband, Jim, of Houston, Texas, Betty Pickett and husband, John, of Ball, Louisiana, and one great-grandson, Kyle Ray Weeks of Kilbourne, Louisiana.
He is survived by his six children, Samuel David Harris and wife, Bree, of Royal, Kathryn Knight and husband, Roger, of Eudora, Sandy Hagood and husband, Bobby Joe, of Eudora, Rodger Harris and wife, Rebecca, of Waco, Kentucky, Michael Harris and wife, Connie, of Oak Grove, Louisiana, and Mary Weatherly and husband, Phillip, of Wilmot; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 10, from noon until 1 p.m., followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. at the Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel, in Lake Village. Heath Harris will officiate. A private family burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello.
