Only two school districts in Southeast Arkansas have contested school board races in the September 20 school elections.

One seat on the Warren School Board and three seats on the Crossett School Board have contested races. All other open positions on Southeast Arkansas school boards drew only one candidate. Candidates in the school board elections include:

Crossett School Board Zone 2 Raymond Blair, the incumbent, and James “Jim Bob” McCormick, Glenn McIntyre and John A. Bowers.

Crossett School Board Zone 3 Doug Thurman, the incumbent, and C. Eddie Goodson.

Crossett School Board Zone 5 Alan Wilson and Brian Keith Carter

Crossett School Board The Zone 1 Robert Cornelius, the incumbent, is unopposed.

Crossett School Board Zone 4 incumbent Jeff Langley is unopposed

Hamburg School Board Zone 2 Joan Oldham, the incumbent, is unopposed.

Hamburg School Board Zone 4 Mike Hartley, the incumbent, is unopposed.

Hamburg School Board Zone 6 incumbent Mike Harville drew no opposition.

Warren School Board Zone 1 Memory Frazer and Randy Rawls.

Warren School Board Zone 5 incumbent Joel Tolfree drew no opposition.

No one filed for the Hermitage School Board Zone 4 position.

Dumas School Board Zone 3 Curt Moore, no opponent.

McGehee School Board Zone 4 incumbent Clarke Pugh is unopposed.

McGehee School Board Zone incumbent Jeff Owyoung is unopposed.

McGehee School Board Zone 7 incumbent William Campbell is unopposed.

Star City School Board Zone 2 incumbent Ruthie Johnson is unopposed.

Star City Zone 3 incumbent Brenda McGathy is unopposed.

Monticello School Board Zone 1 candidate Dr. Michael Fakouri is unopposed. The incumbent, Dr. Robert H. Burch Jr. is not seeking reelection.

Drew Central School Board Zone 2 incumbent Rene Knowles is unopposed.

Dermott School Board Zone 3 incumbent Michael Brannon is unopposed.

Dermott School Board Zone 6 incumbent Walter Donald Jr. is unopposed.

Lakeside School Board Zone 2 incumbent Sharon Walker is unopposed

Lakeside School Board Zone 6 incumbent Henry Cook is unopposed.

The filing deadline was Friday at noon. The deadline to file as a write-in candidate is at noon on July 27.
