Jim Searcy

Jim Searcy, founding partner of Searcy & Associates, formed his first accounting firm, Sanderlin, Smith & Searcy in 1978. He worked there until 1981 when he joined Commercial Bank & Trust in Monticello. He left the bank in 1986 and founded the firm now known as Searcy and Associates,LLC, where he continues to practice.

A native of  Palmyra in Lincoln County, Jim was born on February 28, 1940 and attended Glendale Schools before serving in the United States Navy in the Cruiser Galveston and Submarines Tiru, Runner, and Sea Leopard.

After he was discharged in 1964 as RM1(SS), Jim married Sammy Kay Bennett and worked at International Paper from 1965 to 1973.

He then obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (with honors) from the University of Arkansas in Monticello, a Masters in Business Administration (with honors) from Louisiana Tech University, and took additional graduate studies in Finance and Economics at Louisiana Tech University.

Jim is the Past Master at Eureka Lodge #40, the Past Master at Mill Creek Lodge #178, and a member of the Scottish Rite, 32 degree KCCH, York Rite Bodies, and Mark Mason.

Jim, his wife Sammy, his two sons Charlie and Pete, and his five grandchildren continue to live in Monticello. He attends Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
