Charlie Searcy


Drew County Treasurer Charlie Searcy has announced that he will seek re-election in the May 22 Republican primary.

“It has been an honor to serve the people of Drew County as their treasurer,” Searcy said in a news release announcing his re-election bid. “Helping ensure that the tax monies collected by the county are spent wisely and for the betterment of our citizens is a responsibility I take very seriously, and I hope to be given the chance to continue. I’d like to take this opportunity to ask everyone for their vote and support.”

Searcy is a 1985 graduate of Monticello High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1989 and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1993. He is a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church and the Monticello Rotary Club.

Searcy and his wife, Leslie Hollinger Searcy, the director of case management at Drew Memorial Hospital, reside in the Barkada community. They have been married for 29 years and have three children, Morgan Searcy Scott, 24; Abby Searcy, 21; and Matthew Searcy, 16; and one granddaughter, Searcy Scott, 3.
