Monticello linebacker and fullback Beau Rush was selected as the Seark Today Player of the Week for his critical fourth-quarter fumble recovery and subsequent 34-yard touchdown run Friday night in the Billies 28-27 win over previously undefeated Star City.
The 6-foot, 190-pound senior recovered the fumble setting up a 5-play drive capped by his 34-yard go ahead touchdown at Star City.
“It was a huge play that changed the momentum of the game,” said Monticello Coach Greg Tiner. “It was a critical play because they were driving the ball and we got it back and scored.”
In addition to the fumble recovery, Rush had eight tackles, five of those for a loss.
