Sharon Ann Thompson, 74, of Monticello passed away on January 29, 2016 at her home.
She attend Drew High School and retired from Burlington Industries. She was a member of Brooks Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
She was very outspoken and person who told it like it was. She loved working outside in her flowerbed and spending time with her great-grandchildren
She was born on May 3, 1941 and was the daughter of Mable Rhodes and the late Hosea Robertson.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son Cedrick D. Thompson and two brothers, Jesse and Hardy Rhodes.
Survivors include two daughters, Valerie (Steve) Simmons and Pamla (Eric) Lucas both of Monticello; her mother, Mable Rhodes of Monticello; nine sisters, Shirley (Harry) Griffen and Sandra Robertson both of Monticello, Marylin (Wesley) Haynes of Las Vegas, Nevada, Carolyn Whitfield, Dekelia, Mary and Janice Robertson, Celia (TJ) Thomas and Vera Rhodes-Nur all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; four brothers, Sterling (Molly) Thompson, Hosea (Maryland) James Robertson and Jerry Robertson all of Monticello; six grandchildren, Steven (Stephanie), Michallie (Cornelius), Gena (Mario), sheena, Cedteria, and Nigel (Cherelle); 11 great-grandchildren, Kiya, Jacelyn, Tejon, Cadence, Cornelius Jr., Jaylah, Landan, Braxty, Maycen, Madden, and expecting a new addition, Eliza; a godson, Lavell Crowell and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on February 6 at 11 a.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial will be at Campground Cemetery. in Drew County.
