Shelby Scott, 69, of Fountain Hill, died on April 27, 2020.

He was a lifelong resident of the Shiloh community outside of Fountain Hill, a 1969 graduate of Fountain Hill High School and a former member of the Arkansas National Guard.

Mr. Scott worked as a converting mechanic for the Georgia-Pacific Corporation Tissue Mill for more than 43 years before retiring in 2013 and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He enjoyed working for the C&W and G&W Rodeo Company from the 1970s until 1997 and running deer dogs. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren.

Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, James Floyd and Virginia Riley Scott.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Alisa Martin Scott; a daughter, Brenda Scott McCone and husband, Justin; two sisters, Mary Ann Scott and Norma Hales and husband, Bobby, all of Fountain Hill; and two grandchildren, Caleb McCone and Mylah McCone.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 30, at 2 p.m. at the Flat Creek Cemetery with Bro. Elvin McDill officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:45 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers are Mike Richard, Rob Gifford, Carl Brown, Rodger Chavis, Chuck White, Mike Harville, Adam Poe, Mike Cain, James Outlaw, Dwight Duncan, and George Vestal.
