Shelton Van Clark, Sr., 75, of Lake Village, formerly of Warren, died on July 27, 2018.
He was born on May 10, 1943 in Warren and was the son of the late S.O. Mutt Clark and Louise Davidson Clark.
Mr. Clark was a retired pipefitter, a member of Local 706 and served as a union steward. He served on the Civil Air Patrol, was a Mason and a United States Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam War aboard the USS Alabama and the USS Enterprise.
Mr. Clark was a master at hunting and fishing; he made sure all his family and friends learned what he knew about hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time at the camp, hunting in the Ouachita mountains or fishing on the many rivers and lakes in south Arkansas.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Clark was preceded in death by a son, Daniel; and brothers, James Clark and M.V. Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Mattie Brown Clark; three sons, Iry Rice and wife, Carolyn, of White Hall, Van Clark and wife, Renea, of El Dorado, and Maylon Rice and wife, Becky, of Fayetteville; a daughter, Shellia Kornegah, and husband, Dwayne, of Pine Bluff; a sister, Betty Nugent, Pine Bluff; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services with a flag presentation will be held on Monday, July 30 at 10 a.m. at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Warren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 29 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren.
