Shirley Jean Green

Shirley Jean Green, 85, of Star City, passed away December 31, 2021 at Gardner’s Nursing and rehabilitation in Star City.

She was born March 24, 1936 in Lincoln County to the late Travis T. and Katherine O. Hunsaker Burr.

Shirley was a dental assistant for Dr. Jim Moore Sr., a seamstress and a wonderful cook. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren deeply.

She was a member of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her church family and never missed a chance to be with them. Shirley also enjoyed ministering to her friends and bringing them to church.

Also preceding her in death was her husband and father of her children, Doyle Edward Garrison who passed in 1971; the late Hudson B. Green; stepfather, Troy McGee; and one brother, Travis Milton Burr.

Survivors include one son, Mark Garrison (Shelly) of Star City; two daughters, Michelle Heiles (Kenneth) of Star City and Sherry Morris (Garry) of Dumas; one brother, Eddie Burr (Mary) of Star City; eight grandchildren, Mandy Drake (Dennis) of Star City, Jody Drake (Miranda) of White Hall, Mistie Stafford (Hunter) of Star City, Holli Pandol (Jack) of Alexandria, VA, Jared Heiles (Elizabeth) of Little Rock, Megan Huckaby (Audrey) of Bothell, WA, Alex Woods (Rett) of Stanton, TN, Marly Paul (Chance) of Star City, nine great grandchildren, Gabby Hunsucker, Addison Stafford, Annaleigh Stafford, Henry Heiles, Jackson Pandol, Avy Drake, Dagan Drake, Beckett Drake, and Maizy Drake, and one lifelong best friend, Shirley Ann Robertson.

Visitation is Sunday, January 2, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 3, at 2 p.m. at Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Star City. Bro. Cody Andrews will officiate. Burial will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jody Drake, Howard Hunsucker, Dennis Harper, Chance Paul, Rett Woods, and Hunter Stafford.
