Shirley Lee Mills, 77, of Lake Village, died November 30, 2020, at St. Vincent Infirmary of Little Rock.
She was born June 3, 1943, in Dermott to the late Lemore McCarver and Elgie (Masters) McCarver.
Mrs. Mills was a lifelong member of Jennie Baptist Church where she was the secretary for the Sunday school. She loved gathering and worshiping with her church family.
Mrs. Mills worked for more than 50 years at the Eudora Garment Factory where she was able to be with her sons every day and her fellow employees who were like a second family.
She was the heart of her family, keeping it close. She loved to have all her family in church on Sunday mornings, then dinner at her house every Sunday after church. She loved attending all the softball games, plays, cheering games, and any other event that her grandchildren were in.
She was a loving wife and cared deeply for her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her loving parents and two sisters, Betty Yother and Frances Griffin.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Tony John Mills, Sr; two sons, Tony Mills, Jr. (Jamie) of Eudora and David (Christina) Mills of Jennie; a daughter Jennifer (Jonathan) Lightfoot of Lake Village; four sisters, Jean Barley of McGehee, Mary Howell of Lake Village, Jo Ann Hoffman of Monroe, Louisiana, and Sandra (Jimmy) Harris of Orlando, Florida; five grandchildren, Tuesday (Clark) Butler, Summer (Mitch) Raney, Skyler Mills, Christian Lightfoot and Angel Mills; three great-grandchildren, Delilah, Freya, and Marleau; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 5, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Jennie Cemetery in Lake Village.
The family requests donations be made to Bishop-King Funeral Home.
