Sidney Elbert Brantley, Sr., 79, of Dermott passed away on February 6, 2015 in Lake Village.
He served in the United States Navy and worked at Riceland Foods for 48 years.
Mr. Brantley loved to ride motorcycles and was an amateur ham radio operator. He was an active member of Temple Baptist Church.
He was born on April 23, 1935 in Lake Village and was the son of the late Elbert Bond and Sarah Aleen White Brantley.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Bonnie Garrison Brantley and Elaine Steel Brantley; a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Brantley; and a brother, Terry White Brantley, Sr.
Survivors include his sons, Sidney Elbert Brantley, Jr. of Monticello, George Michael “Mike” Brantley of McGehee, Charles Wayne Brantley, Sr. of Dermott, James Allen Brantley and his wife, Mary of Arkansas City, Bobby Dean Brantley of Arkansas City, and William Thomas “Bill” Brantley of Dermott; his daughters, Donna Cessor and her husband, Wendell of Lake Village and Sheila Estep of McGehee; a sister-in-law, Naomi Brantley of Missouri, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be February 14 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Temple Baptist Church in Dermott. Memorial services will be held at February 14 at 11 a.m. at the church with Revs. Bob Franklin and Jody Gannaway officiating.
