Two Southeast Arkansas women have collaborated to write and illustrate a new children’s book, Mystery Girl. The self-published chapter book was written by Joanna Davidson, of Portland and illustrated by her sister-in-law Destiny Baxter, of Dumas.

This is Davidson’s second book. She is also the author of a children’s poetry book, The Pretend Series, published in 2001. It is still available in paperback.

Davidson, who writes under the pen name Joanna Leigh, said she and Baxter, a kindergarten teacher in the Dumas School District, published Mystery Girl themselves through createspace.com, a web site linked with amazon.com

Mystery Girl is available to purchase in paperback and for kindle e-readers on amazon.com and many other websites. It is available worldwide in different languages.

“I have finished writing my third children’s book and Destiny is illustrating it now,” Davidson said. “It will be our second children’s chapter book together.”

Both Davidson and Baxter are available for book readings and signings. They can be contacted via e-mail at:
