The Southeast Arkansas Health Foundation this week made the final payment on its $100,000 pledge to Drew Memorial Hospital for equipment and furnishings for the hospital’s Cancer Care Center.

The foundation is now gearing up for its next fundraiser, “Dancing with the Stars of Monticello” featuring Drew Memorial Hospital CEO Scott Barrilleaux and his wife, Brandy; Matt Whiting and Johanna Hendrex; and Seth and Megan Oxner.

Attendees will enjoy dinner while the couples dance for votes and contributions toward the foundation’s new fundraising project, a new OB monitor and new born hearing screen. Through the event, which will also include a live and silent auction, the foundation hopes to raise at least $43,000 toward the cost of the monitor and hearing screen.

The event will be held on October 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Monticello Country Club.

The foundation conducts at least two fundraising events each year. In addition to the annual Dancing with the Stars fundraiser, the foundation has held a charity golf tournament, “casino night” and other events.

Southeast Arkansas Health Foundation board members are Michael Efrid, Tom Wingard, Susan S. Sharp, Barbara Barnes, Donna Gardner, Becky Hammett, Lou James, Mark Tiner, Debbie Rush, Linda Orrell and foundation director Stephanie Norris.
