Drew County voters in a special election on Tuesday will consider extending for six years a one-cent sales tax for county roads and county general operations.

If approved, 75 percent of the tax will be earmarked for the construction, reconstruction, restoration, improvement, and repair of county roads. Twenty-five percent will be used for general operations of the county.

Early voting runs from June 4 through June 10, at the Drew County Courthouse in the club room, from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Polling sites will be open on election day, July 11, from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
