Stacy Lynn Davis Raber, 47, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Star City, died unexpectedly on September 28, 2015 at her home in Dallas.
She was a graduate of Star City High School and the University of Arkansas in Little Rock where she earned a BS degree in English Communication and Secondary Education. She was a National Debate Championship winner and attended the Arkansas Governor’s School for two years.
Mrs. Raber was a member of the Yorktown First Baptist Church, a member of the choir, pianist, and was an avid supporter of community affairs. She was a devoted mother and known as a problem-solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects at work and around the house. She was always the first to offer a helping hand. She will be deeply missed by her many friends, her minions, her family and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jean Baugh; her grandfathers, Marion F. Baugh, William L. Davis and Eugene Raymond Raber; and grandmothers, Elizabeth Baugh and Thelma Stephens Davis.
Mrs. Raber is survived by her husband, James Robert Raber Sr.; three children, James R. Raber, Jr., Sydney Elizabeth Raber and Jonathon Ty Raber; her father, John Robert Davis and stepmother Susan K. Davis; a brother, Stephen L. Davis; a sister, Rebecca Ann Davis Detrick; a granddaughter, Payten Marie Raber; nieces, Isabel Davis and Emma Sofia Winands; nephew, Maximilian Wolfgang Winands; mother-in-law, Linda Sue Raber; uncles, Jimmy Baugh and Danny Baugh and their families, of Star City; and many other nieces and nephews and their children.
A memorial service will be held on October 3 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. in Corsicana, Texas at the residence of John R. and Susan K. Davis at 4005 FM 3383 and Sunny Lane
Burial will be on October 4 at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Star City under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home of Star City.
