Star City art winners

Three Star City School District students have placed in the Arkansas Art Educators Youth Art Month Flag Design Contest.

Sara Tipton 12th Star City High School
Jimmy Brown Elementary School fifth grader Kylee Anne White won 1st Place and fifth grader Emma Kelley won 4th Place in the elementary school division. Both students are under the instruction of Suzi Davis.

Star City High School senior Sara Tipton won 3rd place in the high school division. She is under the instruction of Roger Darren High.

The artwork created by these students as well as other state winners will be on display from March 12 until April 1st at the Old State House in Little Rock as part of a celebration of Youth Art Month, a national celebration of art education that is observed in March. An awards reception will be held on April 1st at the Old State House at 1 pm.

Other Youth Art Month Flag Design Contest District winners from Jimmy Brown Elementary School include: Jeorgia Anne Floyd (5th grade), Jaggar Hendricks (5th grade), Alex Lunsford (5th grade), Emma Mann (5th grade), Daven Parker (5th grade), Presley Story (5th grade), and Baylee Turner (5th grade).

Other Youth Art Month Flag Design Contest District winners from Star City High School include: Josie Floyd (10th grade), Autumn Jackson (10th grade), Karla Mejia (10th grade), Hunter Shelby (10th grade), April Berry (11th grade), Maddie Burr (11th grade), Laterriuna Hill (11th grade), Brittney Smith (11th grade), Roberto Sweet (11th grade), Alek Taylor (11th grade), and Courtney Malone (12th grade).
