Star City defeated Lonoke 21-7 Monday night in the Simmons First/Hooten’s Classic at the Golden Lions Stadium at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Star City’s Reshod Davis scored on a 35-yard run in the first quarter, followed by Austin White’s 35-yard touchdown pass to DeVondrick Shelton, for Star City, making the score 14-0. Lonoke scored on a 12-yard pass in the third quarter and Star City’s Austin White scored from the 1 yard line in the fourth quarter making the final score 21-7.

In other Monday night games, Dumas fell to Watson Chapel 32-2 in the Hooten’s Classic and Hamburg JV defeated the Drew Central Pirates 52-24 at Hamburg.

Drew Central scheduled the Hamburg JV game after Hermitage cancelled its season because it did not have enough players to field a team. The Monday night Hamburg game replaced the Pirates Friday night game with Hermitage.
