The Star City High School Art Club recently visited Memphis, Tennessee as part of an educational field trip involving art, social studies, music, and science.

During their visit to students toured Belz Museum of Asian and Judaic Art, Memphis Zoo, Memphis Pyramid, and Beale Street. Students also had lunch at the Red Sun Buffet Chinese restaurant and dinner at Rendezvous where they enjoyed the world famous ribs and sandwiches.

Members of the Star City High School Art Club recently took a guided tour of the Belz Museum of Asian and Judaic Art in Memphis where they learned about ancient Chinese art.

The visit to Memphis was arranged by Star City High School art teacher Roger Darren High and chaperoned by Leticia Rios, Teresa McGriff, Donna Smith, Amanda James, Kimberly Turner, Susan Hibbard, Jody Hibbard, Jonathan Hibbard, and Abigail Magana.

“This field trip gave our students an opportunity to explore art and culture in a way that would not have been possible in a traditional classroom setting,” said art teacher Roger Darren High.

This was the 48th educational field trip High has arranged for his students.
