Scott Bennett, director of the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, will be the guest speaker at the Southeast Arkansas Cornerstone Coalition Regional Economic Development Banquet on May 21 at 6 p.m. in the Green Room of the Gibson Center on the University of Arkansas at Monticello campus at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15.

Bennett will discuss rail development, the I-69 and I-530 connector, Great River Bridge, and other Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) issues affecting Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Cleveland, Desha, Drew and Lincoln counties.

During the banquet, the coalition will unveil a new regional career website, recognize the 2012 Cornerstone Leadership Development Institute graduates, and present regional economic development awards.
