Stephanie Hill Rogers, an unsuccessful 2016 candidate for the Monticello City Council and wife of former Monticello Mayor Joe Rogers, was arrested Thursday for allegedly conspiring to commit capital murder and criminal solicitation to commit capital murder.

On October 16, 2018 officials of the Monticello Police Department contacted the state police criminal investigation division requesting assistance in a case involving information that Mrs. Rogers, 48, wanted a particular individual killed, according to Arkansas State Police.

Rogers is being held at the Drew County Detention Center.

According to a 2016 news release announcing her candidacy for the Monticello City Council, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and is involved in programs for youth in Monticello.
