Steve Connor

Steve Connor, 65, of Crossett, passed away on October 30, 2021, at his home.

He was born on October 13, 1956, and was a graduate of Crossett High School.

For over thirty years, Steve worked at Georgia Pacific where he operated a winder in the tissue mill.

In his free time, Steve loved to tinker with things. If it had a motor, he raced it; if it could be built, he probably built it. He was known by many as a jack-of-all trades. His deepest passion was building and flying remote-controlled airplanes. He was an active member of the NEARC Flying Tigers in West Monroe, Louisiana and the Southeast Arkansas Aero Radio Modelers Club in Monticello for many years.

When he wasn’t flying, you could often find Steve not too far from his grill. He was a proud “pitmaster” who took great pleasure in preparing mouthwatering meals for his family and friends, most likely while talking. Steve loved to talk and could carry on a conversation for hours on any topic. He was a knowledgeable, independent, and headstrong man, a friend you could always count on, and a dedicated and loving father to his son, who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Irene Elizabeth Connor.

He leaves behind one son, Klint Connor (Randee Jo Langley) of Crossett; one brother, James Connor of Hamburg; and one sister, Debbie Menapace (Tim) of Crossett; a niece, Janet Eppinette (Brad) of Downsville, Louisiana; two nephews, Ed Connor of West Monroe, Louisiana, and Michael Menapace (Whytnie) of Crossett; and aunt and uncle, Glenn and Kathaleen Willis also of Crossett.

Memorial service information will be published when the time and date can be confirmed.
