Steven Wayne Sooter, 48, of Crossett, passed away on February 10, 2015.
He worked for Pope’s Auto Supply for more than 20 years and most recently for Crossett Marine. He was formerly volunteer fireman in Connecticut. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR.
Mr. Sooter was born on October 16, 1966 at Crossett and was the son of the late Orville D. Maxwell and Brenda Cutchall Quimby.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James D. and Erma Lee Maxwell and maternal grandparents, Herman C. and Estelle Cutchall.
Survivors include his fiancée, Lisa Chestnut of Crossett; a daughter, Kristine Sooter of Somers, Connecticut; step-children, Brittany Thomas, Katelyn Hood; two sisters, Angela Wisecarver (Jay) of Lafayette, Louisiana, Connie Ford (Nathan Austin) of Texarkana, Arkansas; aunt, Denise Majercin of Crossett; uncle, Clifford Cutchall of Queen City, Texas; grandchildren, D.J., Eli, Kamron and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on February 13 at 2 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
