Strong to severe storms are possible Friday and Saturday as a storm system moves across the state. The strongest storms are expected to occur in the eastern half of the state, mainly from Friday evening into early Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday, 2:02 a.m. — Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of central Desha and south central Arkansas Counties through 2:45 a.m. At 2:01 a.m., Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Trusten Holder WMA to near Rohwer. Movement was east at 45 mph.

Saturday, 1:59 a.m. — Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Ashley County in Southeast Arkansas and northwestern Morehouse Parish in Louisiana until 3 a.m. At 1:58 a.m., Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Monticello to near Strong. Movement was east at 45 mph.

Saturday, 1:46 a.m. — Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Bradley, Drew and Desha counties through 2:30 a.m. At 1:46 a.m., Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles west of Winchester to near Monticello to 9 miles northwest of Fountain Hill to near Hilo. Movement was east at 45 mph.

Saturday, 1:43 a.m. — A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 2 a.m. for northwest Desha, southeast Lincoln and Arkansas counties. At 1:43 a.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Mitchellville, or near Dumas, moving east at 45 mph.

Saturday, 1:32 a.m. — A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 2 a.m. for central Lincoln, northwestern Desha, and south central Arkansas counties. At 1:31 a.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Mills, or 8 miles west of Dumas, moving east at 50 mph.

Saturday, 1:20 a.m. — A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 2 a.m. for Lincoln, northeastern Desha, and south central Arkansas counties. At 1:19 a.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Star City, moving east at 50 mph.

Saturday, 1:05 a.m. — A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 2 a.m. for eastern Cleveland County, northwestern Desha County, Lincoln County and south central Arkansas County. At 1:05 a.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Herbine, or 10 miles west of Star City, moving east at 50 mph.

Saturday, 12:47 a.m. — The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for central Cleveland, northeastern Calhoun and southeastern Dallas counties has been cancelled. The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. However hail and gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.

Saturday, 12:46 a.m. — Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Cleveland, southeast Grant, northeast Calhoun, southeastern Dallas, northwest Drew, Jefferson, Lincoln and northwest Arkansas counties through 1:15 a.m.

Saturday, 12:31 a.m. — A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 1 a.m. for central Cleveland, northeast Calhoun and southeast Dallas counties. At 12:31 a.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Fordyce, moving east at 50 mph.

Saturday, 12:17 a.m. — A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for central Cleveland County, northeastern Calhoun County, southeastern Dallas County, and northeastern Ouachita County until 1 a.m. At 12:17 a.m., a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles northwest of Bearden, or 16 miles west of Fordyce, moving east at 50 mph.

Friday, 10:45 p.m. — A Tornado Watch is in effect until  Saturday morning at 5 a.m. for Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha, Drew, Chicot, Cleveland, Lincoln, Jefferson, Calhoun, Arkansas, Crittenden, Lafayette, Lee, Miller, Mississippi, Monroe, Nevada, Ouachita, Phillips, St. Francis, and Union counties, according to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center.

Friday, 3 p.m. — A Tornado Watch is in effect until 11 p.m. for a large part of Arkansas, including Cleveland and Lincoln counties in Southeast Arkansas. Other counties in the watch area are Arkansas, Clark, Clay, Cleburne, Conway, Craighead, Crittenden, Cross, Dallas, Faulkner, Fulton, Garland, Grant, Greene, Hot Spring, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Jefferson, Lawrence, Lee, Lonoke, Mississippi, Monroe, Montgomery, Perry, Phillips, Pike, Poinsett, Pope, Prairie, Pulaski, Randolph, Saline, Sharp, St. Francis, Stone, Van Buren, White, Woodruff and Yell.
