Police are still searching for the man suspected of robbing the First National Bank of McGehee last summer. Glen Darnell Perrian was last seen at a Desha County residence Monday night after he escaped from the Desha County Courthouse in Arkansas City where he was awaiting a hearing in his pending criminal case.

“He was seen Monday night at a residence in Desha County but by the time police arrived he was gone,” said 10th Judicial District Prosecutor Thomas Deen. “He has connections in the Monticello area but I have no idea if he’s headed this way.”

Perrian, who is charged with the June 2012, armed robbery of the First National Bank of McGehee, escaped from the courthouse on foot. He was handcuffed but was not wearing foot shackles.

By the time he had arrived at the Desha County residence where he was last seen he had managed to free one of his hands. The handcuff was dangling from his other wrist.

While at that residence, he took some clothing and fled before police arrived, Deen said.

Perrian is suspected of robbing a teller at gunpoint between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on June 20, 2012. Given the nature of the offense of which he is accused, he should be considered dangerous, according to Deen.
