Tara Block

Tara “Ashlie” Patrick Block

Tara “Ashlie” Patrick Block, 35, of Wilmot passed away June 22, 2014, at the UAMS Hospital in Little Rock.

She was born on August 28, 1978, in Tyler, Texas, and was a 1996 graduate of Crossett High School.

Mrs. Block was a homemaker and a proud mother to four children. Her hobbies included reading, cooking and watching football, especially her Arkansas Razorbacks and Pittsburgh Steelers. She adored spending time with her friends and family.

Mrs. Block also had a special place in her heart for breast cancer research and survivors, and she did everything she could to help in raising awareness. The best way to measure the love and affection she had for others is to mention, lastly, that she was an organ and tissue donor. This selfless act alone guarantees that she will live on in the lives of many.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Carlos Ray Johnson; and her mother in-law, Joyce E. Block.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Jesse LaRon Block; three sons, David Michael Ray Patrick, of Crossett, Jonas Alexander Block, and Ethan Andrew Block, both of Wilmot, one step-daughter, Jacquese DeAnn Block, of Branson, Mo., and one godson, Timothy Johnson, Jr. of Wilmot.  She also leaves her parents, Huey and Pamela Dickson, of Crossett; grandmother, Mrs. Flora Scarlet Johnson, of Hamburg; one brother, David Andrew Dickson and one sister, Jillian Mackenzie Dickson both of Crossett, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held June 27 at 10 a.m. at North Crossett First Baptist Church with Bros. Scott Wheeler and Robyn Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Parkdale Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.

Pallbearers are David Glen Johnson, David Michael Ray Patrick, Kevin David Johnson, Alex Ray Colby Johnson, David Andrew Dickson, Edward Block, and Erwin Goodwin. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Crossett High  School class of 1996.

Visitation will be June 26 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Medders Funeral Home.

Charitable donations may be made in Ashlie’s memory to the  Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309
