Tyrone Tate

A Crossett man was sentenced to 55 years in prison Friday for the October 2010 murder of 19-year-old Amanda Nichole Kelly.

Tyrone Tate, 20, was convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Kelly, also of Crossett.

Circuit Judge Sam Pope accepted an Ashley County jury’s recommendation and sentenced Tate to 40 years in prison for first-degree murder and an additional 15-year sentence for a firearm enhancement, according to 10th Judicial District Prosecutor Thomas Deen.

Pope ordered the two sentences to run consecutive.
