Teddy “Ted” Thornton, 77, of Lake Village, peacefully passed away on July 18, 2019 at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock after complications from surgery.
He was born in Lake City, Arkansas on August 17, 1941 to the late James Waitman and Blanche Bates Thornton.
Mr. Thornton was the founding owner of Southeast Arkansas Realty & Appraisal Company, the 2018 Lake Village Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Year. He was a member of Lake Village Baptist Church.
Other than his parents, Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim Thornton and Pete Thornton; and his sister, Billie Hall.
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Juanita Thornton; his daughter, Vicki Brannon and husband Lee Brannon of Morrilton; his son, Teddy Thornton, Jr. of Fort Smith; sister, Shirley (Glen) Fletcher of Lake City, Arkansas; brother, Don Thornton of Wichita, Kansas; sister-in-law, Bernice Thornton; grandchildren, Bryan (Holli) Brannon, Brett (Mallory) Brannon, Teddy (Amber) Thornton, III, and Hannah Thornton; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Ty, Winter, Jake Ryan. He was godfather to Molly Hayes.
He will be greatly missed by many other family and friends.
A private family burial and a public memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Lake Village Baptist Church, 301 North Lakeshore Drive, Lake Village, AR 71653 or a favorite charity.
