Thelma L. Stuart Karnes, 93, of Monticello, passed away on May 10, 2020, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was born on June 3, 1926, in Fayetteville to the late Gilbert C. Stuart and Mary Brown Stuart.
Mrs. Karnes was widow of George Karnes. She was an office manager at Davis Forestry for more than 20 years, prior to her retirement, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Monticello.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Stuart, and a sister, Virginia Rose.
Survivors include three sons, Chuck Karnes and wife Roxanne of Monticello, Mark Karnes and wife Catherine of Arkadelphia and Steve Karnes of Monticello; seven grandchildren, Megan Karnes, Sarah Pearce and husband Blain, Heather Landers and husband Chris, Bart Russell and wife Hayley, Kyle Russell and wife LeAnn, Kandice Karnes and Ashley Vaughn and husband Michael; ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A family viewing will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello. A private family graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Karnes Cemetery in West Fork, Arkansas. A family viewing will also be held Friday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Moore’s Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
